Why RAIN was invited to the Lincoln County community

Caroline Bauman, the director of the Economic Development Alliance of Lincoln County contacted RAIN shortly after the City of Florence did, inquiring about how to support entrepreneurs and innovators working on trades sectors startups in her coastal county. We quickly realized we should approach our outreach on the mid-coast as a region. This would maximize resources and enable the development of an Oregon Mid-Coast entrepreneurial connected region and culture.

RAIN’s Venture Catalyst Manager proceeded to roll-out RAIN’s Entrepreneurial Development Model in Oregon’s Mid-Coast, from Lincoln City down to Florence. A calendar of programs and events were hosted and several entrepreneurs were identified. Industries included, agricultural technology, food and beverage, consumer goods, and marine technology.

Caroline Bauman was instrumental in helping RAIN secure initial funding to hire a part-time Coastal Venture Catalyst.

Lincoln County Commissioner Doug Hunt has also become a RAIN Ambassador and has committed sustainable funds to support the Mid-Coast Venture Catalyst.

RAIN has been serving entrepreneurs and innovators in Lincoln County since November 2015.
