Chamber, Oregon RAIN, LCC Florence and LaneSBDC team up for Florence Pub Talks

New, monthly business workshop and networking series begins March 21st

Florence, Ore. — Do you know the three ways you can make more money right now? You can find out Wednesday, March 21st, at Florence Pub Talks — a new, monthly business workshop and networking series co-produced by the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce, LaneSBDC, and Oregon RAIN, with funding support from the City of Florence.

The first Florence Pub Talks event — “Do you know the three ways you can make more money right now?” — is Wednesday, March 21st, from 5-7 p.m. at the LCC Florence Center. The workshop will cover practical and actionable tips on revenue, profitability, and capital investments. Businesses, entrepreneurs, and dreamers are all invited to this FREE event.

“The Chamber is excited to partner and leverage our resources to bring new knowledge to our locals who have a passion to build their businesses. By working together we have a much larger impact, it’s my pleasure to partner with the SBDC and Oregon RAIN,” said Bettina Hannigan, Executive Director of the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber, LaneSBDC, and Oregon RAIN share a common vision of a thriving local economy; they provide complimentary economic development services and often work with the same clients/members. After collaborating to host Business After Hours in January, the local leaders of these organizations saw the value in merging their resources and communities on a more regular basis.

“I can’t imagine a better venue for real-world education than to be surrounded by motivated, interested and interesting people seeking to improve themselves, their businesses and their community,” said Russ Pierson, Dean of the LCC Florence Center. “And this collaboration between the Chamber, LaneSBDC, and Oregon RAIN is exactly what the doctor ordered. These are the business experts who know what works and how to communicate the vital takeaways.”

The monthly Florence Pub Talks will feature industry experts on a variety of business topics —  from digital marketing and customer acquisition to taxes and tourism. The events will also include plenty of time for networking.

“Florence Pub Talks are events where entrepreneurs and business owners can get to know one other and learn about each other’s talents. It’s also an opportunity for the community to interact with the Chamber, LaneSBDC, and Oregon RAIN, and learn more about what we do for local businesses,” said Oregon RAIN Coastal Venture Catalyst David Youngentob.
